Director of Food Services

We are currently looking for a qualified, Director of Food Services to join our Residential Team. The Director of Food Services shall be responsible for the overall operation of food services at all residential sites. Other duties include but are not limited to:
- Preparation of monthly menus for all residential sites.
- Be aware of and comply with CDE Program and CDSS.
- Oversee the cleanliness and proper storage of all equipment and the proper handling, serving and storage of all foods at all three residential campuses.
- Responsible for keeping/maintaining records and filing reports in connection with the CDE program, as required by the school and state. Responsible for the purchase of food commodities.
- Obtain bids from vendors for the procurement of food, equipment and services needed for the department and make recommendations regarding which bids/proposals are in the overall best interest of the agency.
- Work closely with accounting department and CDE food program. Develop a quality assurance program for purchasing and inventory control.
- Provide HACCP training to kitchen staff.
- Drive a vehicle when necessary. Travel (day trips, etc.) as required for completion of above listed tasks.
Skills/Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Culinary Arts, Clinical Dietician or Nutritionist required.
- Food Service Certified trainer preferred.
- Must have at least two years’ experience in food handling and/or purchasing, inventory control and shipping and receiving.
- Computer literate and possess knowledge and ability to use word processing, spreadsheet, and database management programs.
- Demonstrated ability to use Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Detail oriented and demonstrated ability to multi-task and set priorities.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with all publics and have strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be 21 years of age or older and able to pass a physical examination; drug clearance; criminal background check and Child Abuse Index check.
- Must possess a valid California driver’s license with clean DMV history and the ability to safely operate a motor vehicle and be insurable by Trinity’s insurance carrier.
- Should have an interest in working directly with youth in accordance with the general requirements as established in the California Administrative Code, Title 22.
- Must communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing in English.
Annual Salary: $64,480. Annual performance bonus available.
