On December 17, Los Angeles County Supervisor Hilda Solis, her dedicated staff, and a joyous group of volunteers, gathered at Sunshine Park in La Puente to bring some Christmas cheer to foster youth throughout LA County. The Holiday Toy Distribution event provided two large bags of toys and 10 food boxes to each participant. Items were handed out in a drive-through format for safety as COVID cases increase throughout the southland.

In a statement, Supervisor Solis said, “Thanks to generous donations from various organizations, over 1,500 children from communities in the San Gabriel Valley will have toys to enjoy this holiday season. During these trying times, the warmth of family and community matter the most.”

Donating various toys and food items to help struggling families have a brighter Christmas is nothing new for Supervisor Solis, who is well-known for hosting community events that help improve the quality of life for children and people in need.

“Supervisor Solis continues to be a great supportive partner to our agency. Trinity Youth Services and our foster families remain grateful for Supervisor Hilda Solis and her caring team. Due to their passion for helping our families thrive, we have been able to provide additional essential resources, such as meals and toys to struggling families impacted by COVID-19 during this holiday season,” says Trinity Youth Services representative and former foster youth, Eve Powers, who accepted the generous contribution on behalf of the agency.

All of us at Trinity Youth Services wish to thank Supervisor Solis and her team for their continued support, and for helping us make this Christmas a special one for our youth and families! As always, we wish you and your family a very happy and safe holiday season!
